🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Voice Anger Over Sizing Changes Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Online Platforms Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present a different size category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. It has advised users to check their listings and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Changes Previously, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Stories One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Required Changes Charlotte Lunn, located in England, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
