World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive year. The twenty-seven-year-old won four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship. A Season of Dominance Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final. The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the entire year as the top-ranked player, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year. In July, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams in 2015. Record-Breaking Statistics Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and earned a record £11m in earnings. She received nearly 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists. On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "raise women's tennis to a new level". Additional WTA Award Recipients Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, received the award after taking a 13-month break following the birth of her daughter and returning to the sport at the start of this year. Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko picked up the award after starting the season ranked outside the world's top 300 and climbing to world number 18. Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend earned the title after winning their second career Grand Slam title together. Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after reaching five championship matches.
